Summer…what Summer!? Okay, we had a week of blissful sunshine where it was a case of Tip-tops everyday and all the studio fans on the go at once, but now we’re swimming to get to Greggs at lunchtime, just when Joe had finished building his legendary outdoor pizza oven as well (he’s promised a how-to blog on that soon, so stay tuned for that if you’re interested). Owen returned from his holiday to Crete with a glowing tan, smug grin and a few lovely prints for the studio too.
All this miserable weather has made us turn our attention to our Christmas efforts for this year though (…slightly tenuous link, but snow is just pretty rain, am I right!?) and so we’re already busy crafting up ideas of what we can send out to clients, friends and family. Our DIY projector was a big hit last year so we’re working on another festive project to keep us on our toes and keep our creativity at full throttle. We love it when design meets marketing meets creativity meets a little bit of product design.
We’ve gone a bit packaging mad lately with designing and project managing swanky shipping boxes, high-end product labels and POS for one client, producing concepts for flow packaging for another, and then working with suppliers to create prototypes in order to perfect boxing to safely house some new and revolutionary medical apparatus.
We’ve also welcomed some new clients within the beauty and PR industries which has once again diversified our client-base even further. From Construction to Confectionary, we’ve proven that we can cover it all and are thriving on mixing things up.
July also saw us interview a select few candidates for our Graduate Summer Intern placement after agonising over a lot of really high-quality applications, but we’re delighted to welcome the super talented, Ezra, to the designdough fold for a month. He’s already working hard on some great projects for us, and you’ll be hearing more from him over the next few weeks as he settles in.
We hope you’ve been enjoying our 6 PICKS blog series too – if you’ve got any requests for industries you’d like us to cover then let us know.
Until next time…
