We’re sorry!
We know we’ve been a bit slack this month in getting our September snapshot out, and we’re not trying to make excuses for ourselves but we have been INTENSELY BUSY…we wouldn’t want it any other way but seriously, our clients have been tip top priority so we haven’t been able to collect our thoughts and ridiculous pictures as efficiently. FEAR NOT THOUGH – here we are, we made it, read on wonderful blog-visitor…we know you’ve been waiting…

September was a time of great change and big decisions for designdough, as we chose to grow from our team of  6 to a full-time team of 8! Exciting times indeed but this also meant we had to make more space in our studio (has anyone got an extra dimension we can borrow!?) and this inevitably involved BUILDING MORE STANDING DESKS. As it’s a colossally busy time of year generally, the majority of the team cooped themselves up in the boardroom to continue on our projects and Joe, Owen and Abi spent the day building flat pack furniture, sawing and distressing wood. Our desks now have a lovely diamond formation which allows us to communicate a lot more efficiently and brings us closer together…awwwww!

So with Ez as the 7th, you may be wondering who the 8th member of our team is? As the quantity, scope and complexity of our web projects grew, we knew that we needed extra technical support and creative thinking in the shape of a web-developer in order to keep delivering for our clients. We interviewed lots of fantastic candidates but when it came to crunch time, Rhys shone out as someone who could hit the ground running and integrate into our team immediately. He was the one! So with his pallet desk suitably distressed and varnished, and a new mac winging its way over from Apple, Rhys officially moved in on 26th September and hasn’t looked back. We can’t wait to show you some of his work for our clients on our portfolio updates over the coming months.

In other news, Alice and Ez have been getting creative with marbling for a new project – the results are beautiful and has furthered our drive to create our own bank of home-made textures and patterns, all as unique as a fingerprint,  for use in brand, web and print projects. We’ve also been keen photographers and have set up our studio lights to take some high-end product shots for our client, Smart Polish Pro. You can view the results on their new website designed by us.

As the months roll on (can you believe how the time has flown this year!?), we’re getting more and more amped up for Christmas, with Abi planning her ‘traditional’ Christmas quiz, and the team hotly debating what activity we should book (go-karting wasn’t too popular with everyone last year!) – current suggestions are miniature golf, pub golf *er hum*, a movie marathon, “that big cave thing with the trampolines”, and just a good old fashioned 3 course meal. If you have any suggestions for fun activities around Christmas – let us know. Until next time…
