January Moodboard

Let’s be honest…nobody likes January: one week in and you’ve broken your resolutions already, the weather is always dire, you’re still trying to shift your mince-pie induced weight gain but are struggling to go cold-turkey from the treats, and it’s just so darn dark by 5pm! Boooooooo! Yet fear not, it’s not all doom and gloom we like to look on the bright side of things here at designdough, so read on to discover how we’ve been banishing our January blues…

January saw the release of our newest Journal, all centred on our love of print. Alex went cray on the streets of Cardiff, delivering to all our amazing stockists and we’ve had some great feedback already. We’re so pleased you’re enjoying them! Our next edition is due out in the next few months and will be centred on our OTHER love; web! Now, we don’t claim to be a ‘web agency’, so we won’t be delving into the tech-y side of digital (for example, don’t expect top SEO tips or how to get the best from your PPC campaign) – instead we’ll be focussing on what makes us tick about the web; namely how brand can successfully translate to digital platforms. We covered a little bit about this when talking about our own website with Communication Arts a few weeks back.

We’re on the hunt for a Junior Designer to join the team, do you think you’re up to the task? See, our Ez has now moved up through the ranks and definitely isn’t considered a junior anymore by producing quality brand and web work, so now we’re after a young fledgeling to shadow Alice and who we can train up to knock out some amazing print design to satisfy the demand from our clients. If you’ve got industry experience already then happy days, but we’d still be really interested to hear from you if you’re an exceptional recent or soon-to-be graduate. Just remember that we give personality and presentation of work equal weighting so spend some quality time on your application!

In other news, we’ve had some truly exciting new clients visit the studio in January including packaging projects from the food industry, new brands and websites within property/residential sector and a rebrand for a truly innovative local charity. Things will be taking shape over the next few months so we’ll be sure to update you all with sneak peeks and portfolios, but until then, here’s a visual representation of what we’ve been so busy with…
