No machinery, no additives, just natural spices with passion.
From 1999 to 2002, Ben Ford travelled the globe with an open-mind, a passion for great food and his trusty journal. Exploring the lesser known regions of Malaysia, Ecuador, Sri Lanka and Singapore (to name a few), Ben stayed with local communities who shared family recipes and dishes with him. He would later bring these back with him to the UK as his inspiration to start Parva Spices.
Since 2016, Parva has been hand-crafting authentic rubs, infusions, sauces and spice blends with these rich, uniquely collected flavours in mind. No machinery, no additives, just natural spices with passion.
To match the distinct culture of the products, each with their own personality, Parva needed a range of packaging that not only conveyed the quality of the spices within, but that also set itself apart from others on the market commonly found in glass jars or sachets.
Easily refillable, recyclable and sturdy cardboard tubes were selected and digitally printed with a kraft-board texture in order to keep other colours as vibrant as possible whilst giving the brand an earthy warmth and tactility; evocative of spice markets throughout the world. Each spice blend was given its own jewel tone that conjured a sense of its home-region without needing to use flag colours or traditional patterns.
Subtle line illustrations, complimentary to the Parva logo, were also used to differentiate each spice blend and give a fun nod to the recipe’s origins.
Parva Spices are now a Great Taste Producer and have won seven Great Taste Awards from the Guild of Fine Food.
“Your unwavering support, enthusiasm, professionalism, humour and general willingness to go above and beyond made the process incredibly enjoyable. I was so happy when I saw the initial designs – finally working with people that “got it” whatever it is! Great work guys!”
