We are now entering our busiest months of the year and jeez, September flew past! The workload is ramping up and we couldn’t be happier sinking our teeth into the many awesome projects that are flying in. This month we received a stack of Cradoc’s cracker varieties through the designdough doors so we can photograph our next portfolio featuring the illustration and design work James created for their new Asian-inspired range. They look amazing (and taste incredible too but we can’t take credit for that!) and as always, it’s so rewarding to see a project that started out as sketches on paper turn into a physical product that’s currently being sold around the UK in shops.
In other news, Alice went viral! No big deal…but Alice met Lin Manuel Miranda of Hamilton fame, at a musical-themed-sing-a-long in Porters. Lin was in Cardiff, filming for the BadWolf production of ‘His Dark Materials’ and decided to pop by to lend his vocal/rap stylings to proceedings. If you don’t know about it (where have you been!?), you can read Alice’s account here.
You can’t stop us, we’re going to say the ‘C’ word. Christmas is but two months away and we are deciding on this year’s Build It Brand It campaign. We have entered the planning stage with more to follow in the festive run-up. Now is the time to get thinking about your own festive campaigns, especially before the advent calendars start hitting the shops.
Last month we mentioned one of our long-standing clients recently approached us to produce a high-end, coffee table magazine full of amazing insights on family and modern-life. Now it’s been officially printed, published and distributed, we have a copy at the studio and are planning a sexy photoshoot in order to showcase it in all its glory. We can’t wait to show you the results so you can see the work that has gone into it. Print is alive and well, people, and we’re always on the look out for more magazine or multi-page projects to get stuck into. If you’ve got something in mind, then don’t hesitate to drop us a line.
We sign off this months edition with some salutes. So pleased to see our Brand Labs Winners, Odddot won the Manufacturing Start-up of the Year at the Wales Start-Up Business Awards. Honestly, we couldn’t be prouder. A big mention to all the finalists/ winners of the Natwest Great British Entrepreneur Awards 2018 too – featuring some familiar names for us, including Big Moose Cafe, CareerCake, Hang Fire Southern Kitchen & a special mention to Get Wonky. It’s fantastic to see the Cardiff scene booming! Congrats to you all!
