The challenge posed by Wrexham University involved not only renaming it but also reinventing its visual style.
The primary objective of the rebranding was to enhance Wrexham Uni’s reputation and establish it as the top choice for students aged 18 to 21. In order to appeal to a younger demographic, the brand needed to adopt a more bold, vibrant, and more welcoming approach. Additionally, we needed to address the issue of location.
Changing the name from ‘Wrexham Glyndwr University’ to ‘Prifysgol Wrecsam / Wrexham University’ was a strategic move aimed at eliminating confusion surrounding the university’s location in Wales and distancing itself from the Glyndwr name.
