Found Gallery is an inclusive, contemporary arts space that gives both creativity and community a home. Based in Brecon, they have become one of the leading arts spaces in Wales. Art galleries can often be intimidating places filled with things that you can neither touch or afford. Found Gallery wants to change that perception.

Art galleries can often be intimidating places filled with things that you can neither touch or afford. Stuffy, pretentious and deliberately ambiguous. Found Gallery wants to change that perception.

Housed within a mid-nineteenth century building in Brecon, and sporting a renovation designed by Featherstone Young architects, Found Gallery wants to create an inclusive, contemporary arts space that gives both creativity and community a home; a new take on art that can and should be enjoyed by all.

Believing that contemporary art should provoke conversation, encourage a sense of community and inspire creativity, Found aims to become one of the leading arts spaces in Brecon, if not Wales. They needed a brand that would intrigue, challenge and excite both locals and tourists.

Sections of the custom logo-type (loosely based on the letterforms of Liberation Serif) have been carefully hidden, still allowing for complete legibility whilst providing a sense of intrigue; a missing puzzle piece to be found, uncovered or deciphered.

Colourways were kept minimal, using refined slate grey and white to allow the colours and textures of the building and the artwork within to shine. Using the broken logotype as its main inspiration, custom leaded windows were designed to fit the gallery front, adding playful yet subtle interest to the facade.

Found Gallery is proof that sophistication and subtlety can still be unique and inviting.
